One of the largest certified sites in Northeast Louisiana

Expand your business in the best state for economic development

Businesses from all over the world are learning what an exciting place North Louisiana is. Monroe, Louisiana is the birthplace of Delta Airlines, one of the first locations in which Coca-Cola was bottled, and it is the home of the third largest telecommunications company in the United States – CenturyLink. The state of Louisiana has taken great strides in creating aggressive business incentives for new or relocating companies. Louisiana has a strong academic infrastructure for advanced manufacturing, with research universities providing innovation and leadership in technology.

“Millhaven North is one of the premier sites in North Louisiana, strategically located near Interstate 20, U.S. Highway 80, Kansas City Southern Railroad, Monroe Regional Airport and workforce training programs at nearby Louisiana Delta Community College. As a Louisiana Economic Development Certified Site, Millhaven North has completed all the due diligence to make it a development ready site, including a Phase 1 Environmental, topography, geotechnical and soil boring studies. Companies considering Millhaven North will find that the City of Monroe, area utilities and economic development partners have the capacity to support a major economic development project."
Scott Martinez, President, North Louisiana Economic Partnership

The Millhaven North site is exceptionally located near the heart of this activity. With 3 major universities within a 50-mile radius, the area is already populated with a highly trained workforce. Easy access to rail, port, and highway systems allows businesses the opportunity to link their operations to the rest of the world.

Originally a 726-acre tract of land, 86 acres have been purchased by DHL Supply Chain, North America, for a plant and logistics center to be used by Graphic Packaging International. Construction of the 1.27-million-square-foot facility began in the spring of 2017. DHL will complete the new logistics center by the second half of 2018, with Graphic Packaging consolidating the production of its two West Monroe carton plants into the new combined converting facility in 2019. This site is highly suited for industrial, research, or warehousing facilities. While most of the land surrounding the site is farmland, extended communities would welcome light retail as well. As an LED certified site, the property has received a clean bill of health and is shovel-ready.

Three national rankings (Area Development, Business Facilities, and Site Selection) rank Louisiana in the top 10 states in which to do business. Site Selection magazine ranks Louisiana 7th in the nation as having the best business climate, 1st for per capita project expansions and 1st for competitiveness.

The best part? For companies that will create jobs and invest in the community, this land is available at a great price. There is no better time to invest in your business and no better place to do it than Millhaven North.

“Graphic Packaging International and DHL Supply Chain, North America, considered Georgia, Arkansas and Mississippi for a new folding carton and logistics facility, but the Millhaven property at Monroe proved to be an ideal location for the $154 million project."
Don Pierson, Secretary, Louisiana Economic Development
